2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback - We have a winner!

The only negative I found with the 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback Hybrid Sport Touring was the color. I just didn't like the color. That's it, end of review.

No not really.

The absolute best thing about the car was the fuel economy. The highway mileage is excellent but not that much better than a non-hybrid. It's the city mileage that astounds. EPA rates it at 50-mpg, I saw just a tad less. The highway is rated at 45-mpg, I got 49.4-mpg. The fuel tank is relatively small (12.4 gallons) but if you filled up when you had two gallons left you could drive about 450 miles!

The combination of a 2.0-liter gas engine and an electric motor provides 200 hp. A CVT gets the power out to the front wheels.

I am always astonished by how much the Civic has grown. It is now bigger than the original Accord was! The increase in size allows Honda to pack in more comfort, more passenger room, and more safety. Where I live the Interstates are clogged with huge trucks. When I'm in a small car I feel vulnerable. Yes size does matter.

It was nice to see knobs and dials, it made my life easier. It seems like there is a trend away from all the in your face tech and it is about time. Keep the tech in the background and let me drive.

Yes the interior is monochromatic. I appreciate little flourishes but what a I really care about is comfort. Give me a comfortable, supportive seat and I'm fine.

I don't understand why so many vehicles have such low profile tires. This Civic wore 235/40R18 "all season" tires. Do you know how much give there is in a tire like this? Not much. Do you know how much grip they would have on snow? I have to tell you that if I lived in snow country I wouldn't count on these tires to get me anywhere.

You get paddle shifters for the CVT and I never used them for two reasons. First it is a CVT so there really are not any gears to shift, and second just let the transmission do its thing. I am not a fan of CVTs but it was fine.

I remember when small cars had small brakes. No more. All 2025 Civic Hatchback has 11.1" front discs, and 10.2" rears. More than adequate for a vehicle that weighs around 3,300 lbs.

I don't play boy racer in most of the cars I drive; what's the point? I drive like the vast majority of people. When I test acceleration it's getting up to speed when entering a highway; handling is dodging potholes. You know, the real world. And the Civic Hybrid Hatchback was fine, better than fine.

There is a ton of space for cargo with a hatchback, and the load-in is easy too.

A base 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback starts at $30,150. There are four no cost paint colors - Crystal Black Pearl, Meteorite Gray Metallic, Rallye Red, and Solar Silver Metallic. For an extra $455 you can choose Boost Blue Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Sand Dune Pearl, or Urban Gray Pearl. Destination and handling fees are $1,150. Prices are from automobiles.honda.com.

In my opinion hybrids are the way to go if you want ultimate economy and versatility. I also think you can't go wrong with any Honda; the 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback is no exception.
