Bob Dron Ranch River Run
This just in from Michael Dobrin -
The River Ranch Run and showcase
gathering of custom cars and motorcycles, hot rods and vintage trucks will be
held Saturday, May 18, at Isleton’s Delta Diamond Farm, the Central Valley’s
newest motoring and events center.
Admission
is $10 per vehicle – and with any number of occupants. Hours for the River
Ranch Run are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments and entertainment will be available.
Participants
will have ample show space on the expansive greens of the historic 25-acre Delta Diamond Ranch estate, which is
located on the Sacramento River levee road at 15175 Highway 160, just west of
Isleton.
“We’re
throwing the Delta Diamond open for all of our custom car and bike friends,”
says Farm owner Bob Dron, who with his wife, Tracey, has turned the
125-year-old cherry orchard and Victorian home site into a major events center
for weddings, car shows, corporate gatherings,
retreats and picnics.
“No
stockers, please. We’re looking for two and four-wheeled creations that make a
definite styling statement,” says Dron, an Isleton native and one of hot
rodding’s shakers and movers for almost five decades. For more than 30 years, the Drons set
national benchmarks for Harley-Davidson motorcycle sales, marketing and
merchandising in their Oakland, CA, dealership.
A
member of the Oakland Roadster Show Hall of Fame, Dron has created such
landmark custom motorcycles as his CycleTron in the ‘70s to his early ‘90s
masterpiece, the Heritage Royale, winner of the Slonaker Award for Technical
Excellence in 1992. By the time he was 20, Dron had owned dozens of custom cars
and motorcycles and he still collects, restores and shows a number of his
vehicles.
