Monterey Car Week 2023

I have made a monumental decision; I am not going to the whole Monterey Car Week this year. Yup I've decided to skip just about every event. It's not that I don't enjoy it, it's just that I don't enjoy all of it as much as I used to. If I could just see all the car events and skip the staying over, the endless traffic jams, and either the heat or the cold (it can be either or both in August) it would be better.

I'm not ruling out going next year so I'll just call this a sabbatical.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't go, you definitely should go if you are able. For a schedule of events I suggest What's Up Monterey @  https://whatsupmonterey.com/article/activities/monterey-car-week-overview.

I am going to the Concours d'Lemons on Saturday August 19th as an entrant. Their theme is "CELEBRATING THE ODDBALL, MUNDANE & TRULY AWFUL. I have entered the my '95 Chevrolet Lumina, dubbed the Luminati by my friend Rick. I think the Luminati fits "mundane and maybe truly awful." The event will be at Seaside City Hall, 440 Harcourt Ave., Seaside CA, (https://24hoursoflemons.com/concours-d-lemons/) starting at 8 a.m. and winding up at 4 p.m. I'm going to have to get up early to be there on time! See you there. I'll take pictures of the Luminati and other weird cars for you if you can't make it.
