Aston Martin to be sold?
According to a report by Automotive News, Aston's controlling shareholder, Investment Dar Co., a Kuwati company, is considering selling its 64% stake in the company. And here I thought Aston Martin was on solid footing.
Aston Martin was founded in 1913. The firm has had a number of owners although the glory years were headed by David Brown (see the DB series). Ford owned Aston from the early '90s until 2006. In my opinion Aston has carved out a perfect niche of luxury grand touring cars since.
Let's hope that whoever buys Aston honors the history and the future and this great, British, marquee stays around for a long, long time.
